Hoornstra said his department had to send the gun and ammunition for forensic analysis, which is why it took nearly a year for the violation report to be filed in federal court. Court files show DNA analysis was conducted on the firearm and magazine. Ingram was not arrested at the time because he had a valid Michigan Medical Marijuana card. He made his initial appearance in court on Thursday, May 10, and was released on bond following a detention hearing, according to Flint U. District Court records.
Ingram has a violation hearing on May 22 and a judge could modify the conditions of his supervised release, terminate his supervised release before his original release date or revoke his supervised release and send Ingram back to prison. Ingram was originally sentenced in to more than seven years in prison for bank fraud and money laundering believed to be proceeds from narcotics deals and to bank fraud for cashing counterfeit checks, according to the Associated Press.

Because of the brain trauma, Ingram, who is part of a CTE lawsuit against the NFL and suffers from asthma and hypertension, must be supervised at all times, according to his neurologist.
