Detentions are right for improper behavior, but should not compromise developing an understanding of the child. Detentions are not really helpful. It just increase the hatred of students against the schools.
It makes students to realise their mistake It''s true that detention stops the most behaving students. It make them to realise their mistake and make them to think about it. It will make much change in the behaviour of the students in school. I also think that teachers shouldn''t excuse the children who misbehave and should strictly punish them Report Post.
Every student has his or her dreams in their respective lives. It is not necessary that it must be in Academics it could be in other fields too. So punishments like detentions are of no use in such cases rather the school should respect their interests and talents and mould them in a masterpiece.
I would rather consider Detention as force - studies which are of no use till full determination is given. Teaching them life education If you dont have any detention at school or some type of punishment then what will be the process of changing. If we dont at least try to punish them for there not well being then they will never change regardless of the situation.
We should involve some type of counselling to try to change there mind or life too. I vote Coz on one side it causes lack of selfconfidence and the urge to take risks. On that aspect it is bad. But on other side it makes him realise his mistake and prevent him from commiting further mistakes. School detention is necessary as it primarily aims to discipline children.
Discipline means learning and obeying a code of conduct. School discipline instills a sense of responsibility in children. As it''s said, regulated behavior is key to success, progress and prosperity. Discipline inculcates self control, tolerance, obedience and orderliness in an individual. In the absence of it, chaos and a state of perplexity is created. I support the detention policy. I feel detention helps a child realize his mistakes and weaknesses and gives him another chance to improve.
Promoting a child to the next class even though he is not capable of doing well in that class. Students who are not good should not be promoted rather given extra classes and extra attention to make them improve. No, in my opinion it doesn''t because those students who have no interest in studies will not be affected by any punishment. I don''t think so. Detentions ruin students'' lives.
They significantly lower one''s self-esteem and sets him apart from his peers. Detentions can ruin students'' reputation and humiliate them. Teachers should help by giving extra classes to struggling students so that they can at least pass with a good grade. Detention will lead students hate the school life and it would certainly spoil their education. Instead counselling sessions can be conducted for their development. This just does not work in today''s generation.
Getting detention from school may make few kids so happy and free of all the burdens of school, if they had any. Detention is not the way out to this problem. School detention can sometimes bring about discipline and if teachers prove to be a supportive working hand comforting the students then it can prove to be much more beneficial. But if it goes on for a student frequently , it means he isn''t affected by it. Things are conditional. Many books are challenged and banned in schools because they contain inappropriate content or bad language; however, some people have a strong belief that these books are worth reading because they represent ideas of free speech and other important lessons that students will need throughout their lives.
Dress codes help us be appropriate but it can also be too. School Suspensions Suspension is a good punishment for misbehaving, but do they really want to be punished by not going to school for a couple of days? Suspensions are used to punish a student who has committed a minor crime in school. So, is the student really responsible for their actions?
Although school suspensions can be useful whenever a student misbehaves, the punishment can sometimes not even affect the student behavior against other students, limit students from learning new curriculum and passing their grade, and could possibly affect their career life.
We, teenagers tend to be irritable, sulky, and mostly getting into trouble in school. This is so sad guys, to think that there are people who are experiencing this kind of treatments, we people should not be experiencing this but sometimes we need it to serve as a lesson that we should lift ourselves, not give up and just keep fighting! Do you know some people who have been experiencing or suffering from this disorders?
We all do, but how can we help them to recover and bring their happy life back? One of the hardest things about middle school, other than not being tardy, is maintaining a calm mental aura.
This can be especially challenging due to homework, tests, social conflicts, and money or home problems. This stress and anxiety can build up, and ultimately get in the way of our day to day life. Learning these few simple techniques can help you to maintain a calm mental space in stressful or challenging situations.
Being at school and becoming extremely stressed or anxious is a really challenging scenario, however, these simple techniques can help eliminate the stress of it. If teachers would stop just handing out suspensions the students could talk to somebody and figure out the whole story, also If suspensions would decrease the number of student dropouts would decrease greatly and most kids would get a good education and a high school diploma, If students just got suspended after every time they did something bad it would increase the likelihood of something similar happening again.
The whole suspension thing is good on some occasions, for instance someone brings a weapon or drugs to school, but suspending students sometimes just does not seem like the right option and it does not help the situation at. Due to them being envious or jealous, and due to the effect of bullying, they would often think of being rebellious. They would also bully others so that they would feel good about themselves. There are a lot of things that might go wrong due to the impact of emotions that the separation of parents has brought unto.
But having total freedom of speech can be good and bad. Some bad things are that people will say lots of negative things. When the students say these negative thing there is nothing the teacher can do because of the students freedom of speech.
This is also bad because the students will start to feel. They will think twice before doing something wrong. Making students miss recess is an ineffective way of restraining students for their mistakes. It, in fact, worsens teacher-student relationships and makes students even more reckless.
Verbal warnings and direct communication can prove more effective. However, harsh measures can be taken as an ultimate step. Detention tends to clobber the soft and tender sentiments of students. Many a time, young minds end up ostracised and put to public shame and ignominy. Reliance on detention can have an opposite effect. Students are by nature petulant, and may turn insolent and disrespectful in order to vindicate their dissent. The stigma associated with being hauled up does not end with the premises of educational institutions, it can be felt at home and among peers too.
Such humiliation and alienation may send them into depression. We must admit that everyone has his or her own idiosyncrasies. We should endeavour to help students in despair and fix the issues troubling them rather than judging them.
It is crucial that students understand why they are being punished.
